Nigerian Army troops under Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai have foiled a planned bomb attack by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters along a major highway in Borno State. The soldiers ambushed the terrorists along the Trans-Timbuktu (TT) corridor, near the Katarko-Goniri area, killing two insurgents and forcing others to flee.  The troops acted on reliable intelligence that ISWAP members were moving to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the route. A farmer, Kabiru Kamba, has recounted how he rescued a newborn baby girl buried alive in his farmland in Kamba, Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Kamba said he noticed an unusual ridge in his farm and flagged down some motorcyclists to help dig. A 23-year-old man, ThankGod Elufo, has allegedly stabbed himself to death behind Nwodo estate in Ajaji (Bonsaac) layout area of Asaba, the Delta State capital. The incident occurred on Sunday night after his elder brother asked him to dress up for an outing.  According to eyewitnesses, ThankGod had a history of mental health issues. He had previously attempted to poison himself and had been acting strangely, often shouting that people wanted to kill him. On the night of the incident, he entered the kitchen and stabbed himself, and his body was discovered by the vigilante chairman and police.  The police have confirmed the incident, and the body was removed to the morgue. The Police Public Relations officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating, "Yes, it's confirmed". 

A young lady, Excel Ukeredi Peace, has allegedly been killed by her boyfriend in Sapele, Delta State. According to reports, Excel had intended to end the relationship before the incident but was forced to remain in it. She had expressed her concerns to a friend about red flags in the romance and her desire to end it.  A Delta-based human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, disclosed that Excel was found dead in her room last week Thursday. The boyfriend has been arrested and detained at Sapele Police Station. A hidden camera exposed a United Kingdom-based Nigerian caregiver, Bilikesu Olagunju, maltreating a frail 88-year-old man, John Attard, a dementia patient, on Christmas Eve in 2022 at his Bexley, Kent residence. Gunmen stormed into a shack in Gugulethu's Kanana informal settlement in the early hours of Friday morning and shot seven men dead. The men were gathered in a kitchen when they were ambushed, and all died on the scene. A tragic accident occurred in Andhra Pradesh's Annamayya district on Monday morning, June 30, resulting in the deaths of three devotees and injuring nine others. The incident took place near Chennamarri Mitta when a vehicle carrying devotees returning from Tirupati collided with an unidentified speeding vehicle.  The deceased have been identified as Megharsh (17), Charan (17), and Sravani (28), all residents of Bagepalli taluk. The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Muanaenye Victor, for allegedly kidnapping his friend and collecting a ransom of ₦5.3 million . Victor reportedly lured his friend into a kidnapping trap set by his criminal gang in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area.  According to police investigations, Victor deceived his friend into following him to visit someone, only to hand him over to the gang. The gang then demanded a ransom, which they collected in dollars equivalent to ₦5.3 million before releasing the victim.  The spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest and stated that Victor is cooperating with investigators.
