Kwara Community Under Attack: Gunmen Abduct Three Fulani Women

Unidentified armed assailants launched a dawn attack on Awi village, a Fulani/Hausa settlement near Omu-Aran in Kwara State, in the early hours of Sunday, June 29. The attackers opened fire sporadically, causing panic and chaos in the community, and abducted three women. The incident has left the villagers in distress and raised concerns about the security situation in the area. 

The abducted women have been identified as Halimi Kadiri, Gaaje Yusuf, and Maria Isah, a nursing mother, all belonging to the Fulani Bororo ethnic group. The victims' families and the community are anxiously awaiting their safe return. 

Upon receiving the report, security personnel, including members of a local vigilante group, were deployed to the area. A search operation was launched, focusing on the surrounding forest areas where the attackers were suspected to have fled. The Anti-Kidnapping Squad, AKS, and other security agencies have initiated a joint rescue and recovery effort aimed at locating the victims and apprehending those responsible. 

Authorities have assured the public that every effort is being made to secure the safe return of the victims and maintain stability in the affected community. The police have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Lagos Woman Missing After Message About Wrong Car

A Nigerian man, Mayor Johnson, has raised an alarm about the disappearance of his sister, Esther, in Lagos State. Esther was supposed to travel from Ajah to Epe to stay with a family friend in preparation for her JAMB exam.
