Lagos Court Dissolves 13-Year Marriage Over Sexual Deprivation

A Customary Court in Lagos has granted a divorce to a couple after 13 years of marriage, citing sexual deprivation and irreconcilable differences. Mr. Tunde Adeyemi, the petitioner, claimed that his wife, Mrs. Funke Adeyemi, had denied him conjugal rights for several years, leading to emotional distress and a breakdown of marital trust. The court ruled in favor of the divorce, with Presiding Judge Mrs. Patricia Adetokunbo emphasizing that a marriage without mutual affection and fulfillment cannot thrive. The judge granted custody of their two children to the wife, while ordering the husband to provide monthly child support. Mr. Adeyemi testified that despite multiple efforts to resolve their differences, his wife consistently refused intimacy without explanation. Mrs. Adeyemi, on the other hand, claimed she had lost interest in the marriage years ago and saw no reason to continue pretending.

Customs Seizes ₦921bn in Expired Food, Illegal Drugs, and Drones

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted expired food items, illegal drugs, and restricted security equipment valued at over ₦921 billion at Apapa Port , Lagos. Comptroller-General of Customs , Adewale Adeniyi , disclosed the development during a press briefing, stating that the seizures were made in 11 separate operations between January and April 2025 . Among the confiscated goods were five 40-foot containers , two 20-foot containers , and four other cases involving smuggled items concealed in deceptive ways. Adeniyi raised serious concerns over the rising influx of unregistered pharmaceuticals and restricted items like drones and telecom devices, which he described as threats to public health and national security. Singer Portable Sentenced to Three Months in Prison for Assault and Theft

Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been sentenced to three months in prison by a Chief Magistrate Court in Ifo, Ogun State. The court found him guilty on two counts: assault and theft of musical equipment. The charges stem from an incident on November 18, 2022, in Okeosa, Ilogbo, where Portable was accused of beating a man named Osimosu Emmanuel and stealing studio equipment, including a Yamaha H55 monitor, Studio 2 interface cable, and an AKG P420 condenser mic. Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo ruled that Portable would serve one month in prison or pay a ₦10,000 fine for the assault charge, and two months or ₦20,000 for the theft charge. In total, the singer can avoid jail time by paying a ₦30,000 fine. The case adds to a string of past legal issues involving the artist, who has frequently made headlines for controversial behavior both online and offline.
