Heroic 10-Year-Old Foils Dad’s Deadly Attack: Oregon Man Pleads Guilty

A shocking case of domestic violence has ended in justice, thanks to the bravery of a 10-year-old girl. Jesus Manuel Huchin-Interian, a father from Gresham, Oregon, pleaded guilty on April 18 to attempted murder and other charges after cutting his wife's neck and threatening to harm their children in a jealous rage.

The incident occurred in June 2021 when Huchin-Interian suspected his wife of cheating on him. In a fit of rage, he grabbed a knife and attacked his wife, leaving her with an 8-inch gash on her neck. He also threatened to harm their children, but their 10-year-old daughter intervened, grabbing another knife and threatening her father before fleeing to her room with her siblings and locking the door.

The young girl then frantically called the police as her father fled the scene. Her bravery and quick thinking likely saved her family from further harm. The girl's mother miraculously recovered from her wounds, and the daughter's actions have been praised by authorities.

Huchin-Interian was on the run for three years before being tracked down by police in San Francisco in March 2024. He pleaded guilty to attempted murder and other charges, and is expected to receive a 70-month prison sentence.
