In a shocking case of alleged “honour-based” violence, two brothers in Punjab, Pakistan, reportedly gouged out their sister’s eyes and cut off her feet after accusing her of involvement in the disappearance of a family member.  The incident took place in November 2016 in Shehr Sultan village, Muzaffargarh. The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Isiaka Hassan , for the alleged killing of a five-year-old boy, Abba Bashiru , in Tingno, Lamurde Local Government Area. Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje , said in a statement on Sunday, August 31, 2025, that the case was reported after the victim’s mother, Hadiza Bashiru , declared her son missing. She told the police that the boy was last seen in the company of the suspect. Acting on the report, operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer in Tingno arrested Hassan. During interrogation, he confessed to conspiring with an accomplice still at large to kill the child and bury him in a shallow grave.
