Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed prominent Lafia businessman, Alhaji Sani Sabo, in Nasarawa State.
The attack reportedly occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, when the assailants stormed the area and shot the businessman dead.
Sources said that residents, angered by the killing, quickly mobilized and overpowered the attackers, killing one of them while others fled the scene.
Alhaji Sani was widely known as a philanthropist who frequently supported the less privileged in his community. His death has sparked grief across Lafia, with mourners gathering at his home. He is expected to be buried today at 2:00 p.m.
As of press time, the state government and security agencies had not released an official statement on the incident.
