Sammy Daniels, the brother of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has reportedly been arrested by police officers while conducting a live video broadcast.
According to reports by Naija News, the incident took place on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Sammy was said to be in the company of a friend when law enforcement officers approached them. Viewers watching the live video allegedly saw the confrontation unfold in real time before the broadcast abruptly ended, sparking widespread reactions and speculation on social media.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact reason for Sammy Daniels’ arrest remains unclear. The Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the incident, and Regina Daniels herself has yet to make a formal post addressing the arrest.
The reported arrest comes amid an ongoing and highly publicised dispute within the Daniels family, which has played out across social media platforms in recent days. During an Instagram live session, Regina Daniels alleged that her husband, billionaire businessman and senator, Ned Nwoko, was behind the police action against her brother.
Regina also strongly denied allegations that her family stole forty thousand dollars from Nwoko. She insisted that such claims were false, adding that her husband does not keep large sums of cash at home.
In a related development, Senator Ned Nwoko has reportedly released documents and messages through his media team to counter allegations made by Regina Daniels. Naija News reports that the materials include a WhatsApp message dated October seventeenth, medical and therapy records, as well as statements from members of staff.
The senator’s team rejected allegations of domestic abuse, describing them as an attempt to divert public attention from what they referred to as long standing health and behavioural concerns. They further claimed that independent toxicology reports allegedly revealed the presence and misuse of multiple substances, which they said had been a private concern months before the matter became public.
With no official confirmation from authorities and both sides presenting conflicting narratives, the situation remains unclear. Members of the public have continued to react online as more details are awaited.
