American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been assigned a scheduled release date of May 8, 2028, following his conviction on federal charges.
The 55-year-old was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison on October 3, 2025, after being found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. The verdict was handed down by Judge Arun Subramanian at a New York federal courthouse.
According to public records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, cited by TMZ and CNN, the 2028 release date takes into account the time Diddy has already spent in custody.
Combs has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his September 2024 arrest, amounting to over 14 months behind bars so far. The facility where he will serve the remainder of his sentence has not yet been disclosed.
The conviction follows a high-profile investigation involving over 120 accusers, including a minor, who came forward with allegations of kidnapping, abuse, blackmail, and prostitution-related crimes.
In July 2025, a jury convicted Combs on two prostitution-related charges but acquitted him of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Before sentencing, prosecutors pushed for an 11-year prison term, describing Diddy as “unrepentant,” while his defense team requested a 14-month sentence—equal to time already served.
In a letter to the court, Combs accepted responsibility for his actions, apologized to those he hurt — including ex-partner Cassie Ventura and another victim identified as “Jane” — and pleaded for leniency.
Diddy is currently appealing both his conviction and sentence.
