A young woman identified as Christabel Aminu has reportedly been found dead in her apartment in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, after a brutal attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
According to local sources, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025, sending shockwaves through the Agbor community.
Although full details are still emerging, preliminary information suggests that the attacker broke into Christabel’s residence, fatally assaulted her, and escaped with her mobile phone, jewelry, and other valuables.
Human rights activist Ochiegbu Marvelous, who confirmed the heartbreaking news via Facebook, described Christabel as a dedicated comrade and community member.
“We lost one of our comrades in Agbor, Delta State today.
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of our members, a female comrade who was tragically murdered in her home,”
Ochiegbu wrote.
He revealed that a suspect has already been arrested in connection with the case after allegedly being caught trying to sell the victim’s phone later that same day.
“The suspect, who took her phone, was apprehended in the afternoon when he attempted to sell it. Rest in peace, our dear comrade,” he added.
Friends, colleagues, and residents of Agbor have taken to social media to mourn the young woman, describing her as friendly, hardworking, and passionate about social causes.
Many have called on the Delta State Police Command to ensure that justice is served swiftly and that those responsible for the heinous act are held accountable.
Authorities have also assured the public that every effort is being made to bring all perpetrators to justice.
