🎧 Mark Ronson DJ’d at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Wedding — and Jokes He’s Saving the Year for Taylor Swift’s Big Day
Grammy-winning producer Mark Ronson has revealed that he recently DJ’d at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding — and he’s keeping his calendar open in case Taylor Swift wants to book him next.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show with Scott Mills, Ronson opened up about his friendship with Benny Blanco, his famous stepfather Mick Jones of Foreigner, and some behind-the-scenes moments from his career.
He shared a sweet personal detail about his family, revealing that Mick Jones actually wrote the timeless hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” for his mother.
“That song is actually about my mum,” Ronson said. “It’s surreal to have such an iconic love song connected to my family.”
The Uptown Funk hitmaker also laughed as he debunked one of MTV’s biggest myths — the fancy homes shown on MTV Cribs.
“Most of those houses weren’t real,” he admitted. “People would rent or borrow fancy places to look rich. The only real house was mine — and it was tiny.”
Ronson said he’s grateful that Uptown Funk has become a wedding staple.
“I love that people still dance to it at weddings,” he said. “It’s kind of wild that it’s turned into that kind of classic.”
When Mills mentioned that Foreigner recently offered to play at Taylor Swift’s wedding, Ronson joked that he’s ready if she calls.
“I think a lot of people are putting themselves up for that gig,” he said with a laugh. “I’m keeping the year open as well.”
Ronson then confirmed that he DJ’d for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding, explaining how it came about:
“I’ve known Benny for ten years,” he said. “When he got engaged, he asked if I’d do a ‘90s DJ set at his wedding, and I was like, sure.”
As the chat wrapped up, Mills teased that Taylor Swift might just take him up on his offer. Ronson laughed, adding:
“You could get a good deal — maybe a Foreigner–Mark Ronson wedding package.”
