Jigawa Police Arrest 105 Suspects in Statewide Drug Trafficking Crackdown

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 105 suspects in a major operation aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks across the state.

Confirming the development to newsmen at the Command Headquarters in Dutse, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, said the arrests followed simultaneous raids carried out in various parts of the state.

According to SP Adam, the operation was part of the Command’s renewed effort to rid Jigawa of illicit drug activities and other related crimes. He noted that the police officers searched every nook and cranny of the state in their determination to curb the rising menace of drug abuse.

The raids led to the seizure of over 5,000 illicit drugs and intoxicating substances, including cannabis and several other hard drugs. Providing a breakdown of the recovered items, the police spokesperson revealed that the seized substances included:

  • 2,541 units of Exol
  • 1,146 units of D-5
  • 270 packets of Tramadol
  • Over 1,000 wraps of cannabi including one full block
  • 269 units of Diaxer
  • 153 Pregabalin capsules 
  • 82 units of Farin Malam

He added that various other controlled substances such as Diazepam, Vegakris, and Calidon’s were also recovered during the operations.

SP Adam further disclosed that the police also recovered ₦92,460 from the suspects, alongside items such as “suck and die” and bottles of dry gin, which were commonly used during drug-related activities.

“This operation sends a strong message to those engaged in drug dealing that the police are fully committed to eliminating this threat from our communities,” SP Adam stated.

The police spokesperson urged residents to support ongoing efforts to eradicate drug trafficking and abuse by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station, emphasizing that public cooperation remains vital in the fight against narcotics.

Lagos Woman Missing After Message About Wrong Car

A Nigerian man, Mayor Johnson, has raised an alarm about the disappearance of his sister, Esther, in Lagos State.
