President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rejoiced with his wife and Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marked her 65th birthday on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
In an emotional tribute, the President described his wife as more than a partner, calling her “my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path.” He praised her quiet strength, enduring grace, and sacrifices which, he said, have anchored him through years of political struggle, exile, and leadership.
“Oluremi Mi, as you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose dignity, patience, and devotion words can scarcely express,” the President said in his statement. He added that Nigeria owes her more than many may realize, noting her sacrifices behind the scenes and her compassion that continues to touch lives across the country.
Also joining in the celebration, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the First Lady as “our Amazon.” In a congratulatory message, he praised her long years of public service, first as Lagos State First Lady, later as a three-term senator, and now as First Lady of Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu commended her Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said has impacted millions, particularly women and children, through empowerment and humanitarian projects. He lauded her as a compassionate, strong-willed leader, praying for her continued strength, good health, and guidance to keep serving Nigeria.
Both tributes highlight Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s enduring influence, not only as a supportive partner to the President but also as a leader and role model in her own right.
