Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has come under fire on social media after posting a controversial prank video involving her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The drama began on Monday when Daniels uploaded a secretly recorded clip from a bathroom. In the video, Nwoko was seen entering the restroom only to be met with his wife’s camera while a song with provocative lyrics played in the background.
The lyrics, which sparked outrage, included lines such as: “Husband is useless. Yeye man must die, kill your husband make your life better. If you kill your husband you no go suffer and will get plenty freedom.”
The senator appeared visibly displeased before Daniels quickly blocked the view as he began to urinate. In her caption, the actress described the video as a playful attempt to annoy her husband:
“Not me planning to make a video that will piss off my oga at the top only for him to be the main character. How I wan take settle this one now, me I sha post my thing.”
Despite her intentions, the prank drew swift criticism from fans and social media users. Many described the choice of song as inappropriate and disrespectful, particularly given Nwoko’s status as a lawmaker and public figure.
One X user, Mira, wrote: “Omo Regina Daniels no try at all.” Another added: “Sooner or later… a man regrets marrying for aesthetics.”
However, Senator Nwoko appeared to brush off the controversy with humor. Reacting in the comments section of his wife’s post, he wrote: “This wife of my old as I call her. Come here.”
Daniels, meanwhile, defended herself against the backlash, insisting the clip was nothing more than lighthearted fun.
