Popular Nigerian media personality, Teju Babyface, has stirred heated reactions online after advising men not to confess to their wives if they ever cheat.
In a viral video making the rounds on social media, Teju addressed both men and women but focused primarily on men, stressing that silence is always a better option than admitting to infidelity.
According to him, whether cheating happens by chance, mistake, or deliberate action, confessing to a spouse is a grave error.
“If you cheat on your wife or your husband, but especially your wife, especially men, if you cheat on your wife, don’t tell her, don’t confess. If you cheat on your spouse, don’t tell them. Do not ever do it. It is one of the most catastrophic and damning things you can ever do in your life,” he warned.
Teju explained that many people who confess often deceive themselves into thinking they are being truthful, but in reality, they are only trying to relieve their own guilt.
“You are not being honest but manipulative. The urge to confess usually comes from guilt, not genuine truthfulness,” he said, adding that a spouse gains nothing from such a revelation.
He further argued that confession does more harm than good, destroying trust, causing pain, and in some cases, leading to the collapse of the marriage.
The comments have sparked debate across social media, with some agreeing with his stance while others insist honesty and transparency are the foundation of a healthy marriage.
