The Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, has passed away barely two months after assuming office.
Reports from Badagry confirm that Ajose died on Saturday, throwing the local political class and traditional institutions into mourning.
Ajose, who was inaugurated on July 27, 2025, alongside the LCDA Chairman, Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, and five councilors, was sworn in by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Family sources revealed that her remains have been deposited in a morgue.
The late vice chairman was the daughter of His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom, a fact that has deepened the grief within the royal household and across the community.
Her passing comes just weeks after a similar tragedy in Lagos politics, as Oluwakemi Rufai, Councillor for Ward C1 in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, died on August 13, only two weeks after being sworn into office.
