Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel, who rose to fame on reality television more than a decade ago, are breaking their silence after being photographed with a newborn baby several times throughout August.
On Saturday, August 30, the sisters shared a TikTok video addressing the attention. The clip featured a slideshow of recent photos that had surfaced online, set to Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang.” Their caption was short but telling: “Blessed,” accompanied by hashtags such as #sisterhood and #respect.
The first public sighting came on August 14, when TMZ published photos of the sisters carrying a car seat into a black Tesla in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Just under two weeks later, on August 27, they were seen again this time outside the Minnesota school where they both work as fifth-grade teachers. According to The U.S. Sun, the Hensels were spotted holding the baby in its carrier while chatting with a colleague. They later brought the child inside the school for about half an hour to meet coworkers.
Another set of photos published in between those sightings showed the twins running errands with their family dog and Abby’s husband, Josh Bowling, further fueling speculation.
The renewed spotlight on the Hensels comes months after their marriage news surfaced. Abby quietly tied the knot with Josh Bowling, a nurse and father of one, in 2021. However, the union was not made public until March 2024, when Today confirmed the marriage records. Following the revelation, Bowling updated his Facebook profile photo to include himself, Abby, and Brittany smiling together in a family-style selfie.
The trio has generally maintained a low profile, despite the curiosity surrounding their unique lives. Unlike their television days, they now prefer quiet family routines centered around their work as teachers and their time in Minnesota.
Despite the attention, the sisters have not confirmed the baby’s identity. It remains unclear whether the child belongs to Abby and Josh or another close family member. Neither the twins nor Bowling has commented publicly, leaving fans and the media to speculate.
Their TikTok response suggests that while they are aware of the headlines, they prefer to frame the moment positively, using the word “Blessed” to speak for itself.
Abby and Brittany first gained international recognition in 1996 on The Oprah Winfrey Show and later starred in the 2012 TLC reality series Abby & Brittany. The series gave viewers a glimpse into their day-to-day lives, their education, and their determination to live as independently as possible.
Today, the sisters are far more private. They both hold teaching positions and focus on their careers and personal lives in Minnesota. The recent baby photos mark one of the rare times they’ve been thrust back into the public eye and their subtle but firm TikTok post makes it clear they intend to keep boundaries in place.
For now, the Hensels seem content to share only what they choose. Their message is simple: despite the speculation, they are living life on their own terms.
