Etawah, Uttar Pradesh – A gruesome incident has shocked residents of Etawah district after the mutilated body of an eight-year-old boy was found near under-construction houses in the Kotwali Sadar area on Thursday.
The child, identified as Ahil, a resident of Garhi Pura locality, had reportedly stepped out of his home in the morning to collect scrap. His father works as a scrap dealer, and the family lives in modest conditions. Hours later, panic gripped the area when locals noticed a pack of stray dogs barking and fighting near the construction site. On closer inspection, they made the horrifying discovery of the boy’s body lying in a pool of water.
The police were immediately alerted. A team rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Preliminary observations revealed a deep cut mark on the boy’s neck, suggesting that he might have been killed with a sharp weapon before his body was dumped at the site.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh told reporters that it is still unclear whether the boy was first murdered and then left for stray dogs, or whether the dogs themselves mauled him to death. “The exact cause of death will be established after the post-mortem report. Further investigation is underway,” he said.
The brutal incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. Residents have demanded a swift probe and strict punishment if foul play is confirmed. Authorities have assured that every angle—including murder and accidental attack—will be thoroughly investigated.
