Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the suspected murder of a 29-year-old University of Jos (UNIJOS) student, Daniel Umar Izang.
According to a statement by the Plateau State Police Command, Izang was discovered lifeless on August 2, 2025, at Rusau Village Hostel. He was rushed to Asibiti Clinic, located opposite the University’s permanent site, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident was brought to police attention by the university’s Chief Security Officer (CSO), Mr. Agama Tangur, on August 4.
Preliminary investigations revealed marks of violence on the deceased's body, suggesting possible foul play.
Following an investigation, two suspects — Moses Joel, 25, and Naanmang Kadaura, 25 — were arrested in connection with the case.
The victim’s body has been deposited at the Plateau Specialists Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police say investigations are still ongoing.
