Paris Jackson and her fiancé, music producer Justin Long, have officially called off their engagement, less than eight months after announcing their plans to marry.
Jackson, 27, confirmed the split in a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, July 31, writing that she had been crying “breakup tears.” The emotional update follows paparazzi photos published earlier this month, showing the singer visibly upset.
The couple had announced their engagement in December 2024, with Jackson calling Long “the most perfect” person for her in a now-deleted Instagram post. “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind,” she had written at the time. “Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”
In June, Jackson revealed that wedding preparations were well underway. Speaking to Access Hollywood, she shared that her dress was being made, a venue had been chosen, and the wedding date was selected with guidance from an astrologer, a nod to her Los Angeles roots and spiritual lifestyle.
Long appeared alongside Jackson at the Tribeca Festival that same month, walking the red carpet with her for the premiere of her film One Spoon of Chocolate.
Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, has been open about her views on love, relationships, and identity. In past interviews, she has discussed her fluid sexuality, stating that her romantic connections go beyond gender.
Currently on tour with the rock band Incubus, Jackson is continuing her music career following the release of her 2020 debut album Wilted and several subsequent singles and EPs. In January, she marked five years of sobriety from alcohol and heroin addiction.
“It’s been a hell of a summer so far,” she wrote on Instagram on July 18, a message now seen in a new light following news of the breakup.
Representatives for both Jackson and Long have not yet issued formal statements.
