American pop star Justin Timberlake has publicly disclosed his Lyme disease diagnosis, describing the condition as "relentlessly debilitating" both physically and mentally.
In a candid message shared after concluding his recent tour, the 44-year-old singer opened up about months of mysterious symptoms — fatigue, pain, and illness — which were eventually traced back to Lyme disease.
“When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked... But at least I could understand why I was onstage feeling nerve pain or crazy fatigue,” Timberlake said.
While some fans had raised concerns about the lack of energy during his performances, the Cry Me A River crooner clarified that he had been pushing through intense nerve pain and stress behind the scenes.
Lyme disease, caused by bacteria transmitted through tick bites, is most common in forested areas of North America and Europe. Timberlake’s honesty has sparked conversations about invisible illnesses and the pressures artists face even when unwell.
We wish him a full recovery.
