At least seven people, including four adults and three children, have been abducted by gunmen in Isanlu Isin area of Kwara State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who confirmed the incident in a post on X, the attack occurred late Thursday night when armed men stormed Gaa Oloyin Manasara, Eleyinvia community. The gunmen reportedly shot sporadically to scare residents before whisking their victims away.
The abducted victims have been identified as:
- Adamu, 70 years
- Olanrewaju, 1 year 2 months
- Soliu, 1 year 3 months
- Fatima, 27 years
- Salamotu, 25 years
- Ramota, 23 years
- Adijat, 3 years
In response, security operatives, local vigilantes, and hunters were immediately mobilized to the area and have begun combing nearby bushes in search of the abducted persons.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and to bring the perpetrators to justice. The incident has once again raised concerns over the rising wave of insecurity across the North-Central region.
