The Adamawa State Police Command has declared 19-year-old Favour Fredrick missing and has launched an urgent public appeal for information that could lead to her safe return.
Favour, a resident of Karewa, behind the police barracks in Yola North Local Government Area, was last seen around 6:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the vicinity of her home. At the time of her disappearance, she was dressed in mixed black and white trousers, a black and white shirt, and a black veil.
Despite intensive efforts by her family and local authorities, no trace of her has been found since she went missing, prompting the police command to issue an official alert on Saturday morning.
Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, described the case as a matter of “grave concern” and assured the public that every available resource is being deployed to locate the missing teenager.
“The disappearance of Favour Fredrick is a matter of grave concern, and we are deploying all available resources to locate her,” SP Nguroje said.
“We appeal to members of the public with any useful information that could assist in locating her to kindly report at the nearest Police Station or call 08065687920. Your cooperation could save a life.”
The police have also urged residents to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and assured the public of confidentiality for all tip-offs.
Meanwhile, community leaders and local NGOs have begun mobilizing support for the search, spreading awareness through social media campaigns and town criers in nearby communities.
The disappearance has heightened fears in a region already grappling with recent natural disasters and persistent security challenges.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Favour’s whereabouts to come forward immediately to help reunite her with her family.
