Passenger Dies Inside Moving Tricycle in Aba, Police Launch Investigation

The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of a female passenger inside a moving tricycle in Aba on July 29, 2025.

According to DSP Maureen Chinaka, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, the incident was reported by the tricycle operator, Okechukwu Sunday, a resident of PZ Quarters, Aba. Sunday recounted that while conveying passengers along Aba-Owerri Road, a woman identified as Mrs. Emmanuel Love Onuora, aged 51, boarded his tricycle.

Shortly after, another passenger who entered the tricycle discovered that Mrs. Onuora was unresponsive. Upon realizing she had passed away, Sunday immediately reported the matter to the Police Area Command in Aba.

Responding officers arrived at the scene and transferred the deceased to a mortuary for autopsy and preservation. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is currently underway.
