The family of 35-year-old Saheed Adekunle Yusuff has raised serious concerns over his whereabouts, revealing that he has been missing since 2024.
Yusuff, a resident of Elolad Estate, Ologuneru in Ibadan, Oyo State, was last seen by his family members over a year ago. Despite their efforts to trace him, all attempts have proven futile.
Speaking to journalists in Ibadan on Monday, his elder sister, Ms. Fatima Bolaji Yusuff, alleged that Saheed’s disappearance may be linked to threats he received from a politically connected uncle over their late father’s inheritance. According to her, Saheed was in possession of crucial documents proving ownership of family land, which allegedly made him a target.
Ms. Yusuff also disclosed that the matter was reported at Eleyele Police Station, but no breakthrough has been made. She further claimed that their family had suffered multiple attacks due to the inheritance dispute, including one that led to the death of their cousin, Olusegun Olawuyi. Olawuyi was reportedly assaulted and later died from his injuries at Adeoyo Hospital.
"The threats did not stop; they were after Saheed’s life because he held the land documents. We lost Olusegun to one of these attacks. Since then, we have not seen Saheed. Worse still, our uncle, Olalekan Kazeem Yusuff, continues to threaten us, demanding we produce him,” Ms. Yusuff said.
The family has appealed to security agencies and the general public to assist in locating Saheed and ensuring justice is served in the matter.
