Three young sisters, Paityn Decker (9), Evelyn Decker (8), and Olivia Decker (5), were found dead in Chelan County, Washington, after failing to return from a scheduled visitation with their father. Their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, is now wanted on charges of first degree murder and kidnapping.
Discovery of the Tragic Scene
The girls’ bodies were discovered Monday near Decker’s white GMC Sierra pickup truck at Rock Island Campground. Police confirmed they died from asphyxiation. All three had plastic bags over their heads and their hands zip-tied. Blood stains, blankets, snacks, and car seats were found at the scene.
Manhunt Underway for Father
Decker, a former U.S. Army infantryman and current National Guard member, has not been located. Authorities warn that he may be dangerous and are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Concerns Raised About Father’s Mental Health
Court filings show Decker had documented mental health issues, including PTSD and borderline personality disorder. His ex-wife, Whitney Decker, previously raised concerns about his emotional instability and requested limited visitation rights. While he was allowed to see the girls every other weekend, overnight stays were not permitted.
Delayed Alert and Search Efforts
The girls were reported missing on Friday evening, but an Amber Alert request was initially denied due to the case not meeting Washington’s criteria of “imminent danger.” An Endangered Missing Person Alert was later issued Saturday after additional evidence emerged.
Community Response and Support
The Wenatchee School District, where the girls were enrolled, shared condolences with the community. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help their mother cover funeral expenses and take time off work.
Travis Decker is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts. Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
Will this tragic case lead to changes in custody enforcement and child safety protocols?
