A heartwarming yet heartbreaking scene unfolded at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Lokoja, Kogi State, when a man, Adamu Muhammed Tenimu, fainted after learning his wife had given birth to a set of triplets. The new father, a job seeker, was overwhelmed by emotion and financial concerns.
The triplets, all girls, were born weighing 1.8kg, 2.0kg, and 2.3kg, respectively. The mother and babies are reportedly in stable condition, with the newborns receiving care at the hospital's neonatal unit.
Tenimu expressed mixed emotions, thanking God for the miracle while worrying about meeting the financial responsibilities that come with caring for three babies. "I don't even have money to buy diapers or baby food. I don't know where to start," he lamented.
The family is in urgent need of medical supplies, nutrition, and financial aid. Friends and well-wishers have launched a mobilization drive, calling on citizens, the government, NGOs, and philanthropic organizations to assist. "The joy of childbirth should not be overshadowed by fear of survival. We must stand together as a people and support this family," said Sikiru Olamide.
