The prime suspect, 23-year-old Umar Auwalu, the nephew of the deceased, allegedly confessed to masterminding the killings. According to police spokesperson Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, investigators recovered several items from the suspects, including bloodstained clothing, mobile phones belonging to the victims, weapons, and cash believed to have been stolen from the crime scene. The police are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the murders and the suspects’ possible links to other criminal activities in the region.

“The Kano State Police Command is committed to ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice,” Kiyawa said. “We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing any information that could assist investigations.”
