A Nigerian cleric, Pastor Biodun Oladele, has released an extensive set of prophecies concerning the year 2026, warning of significant political, economic, security, and environmental developments across the country. Among the predictions are an alleged coup attempt, the unexpected removal of a sitting governor, economic hardship, and heightened security challenges.
The cleric made the revelations during a prophetic declaration for the coming year, describing 2026 as a highly dramatic and defining period in Nigeria’s history. According to him, the year would witness events never previously experienced in the country, with long term implications for governance, leadership, and national stability.
Pastor Oladele claimed that a coup attempt would be plotted in 2026 but would ultimately fail due to divine intervention. He alleged that the plot would originate from the northern part of the country and warned that Nigerians should not take the nation’s democratic stability for granted.
The President should not think the battle is over, the cleric cautioned, alleging that certain individuals within government and political circles are acting as fifth columnists, working behind the scenes to sabotage the current administration.
In his political forecast, Pastor Oladele further predicted that a sitting governor would lose his seat in an unprecedented manner. He described the development as a national sign that God is changing times and seasons. He added that another governor would be forced to flee for safety, while a different state governor would face serious danger ahead of the 2027 general elections and would require urgent prayers to avert tragedy.
On economic matters, the cleric described 2026 as a financially challenging year, warning that it would be a dry year for many Nigerians. However, he noted that those who are strategically positioned and spiritually discerning would find opportunities to thrive. He predicted that agriculture would play a major role in lifting many Nigerians into prosperity, even as food prices continue to rise nationwide.
Pastor Oladele also spoke on currency performance, predicting that the naira would experience some appreciation against the United States dollar early in the year before declining again between late February and March. In the banking sector, he warned of looming job losses, predicting staff layoffs in some financial institutions. He also foresaw problems affecting an online banking platform and the emergence of another major online scam targeting unsuspecting Nigerians. Additionally, he claimed that large scale oil fraud would be exposed on a national scale.
Addressing security and environmental issues, the cleric warned of unusual weather patterns in 2026, marked by extreme heat and irregular rainfall. He urged Nigerians to pray against a major flood capable of destroying properties, farmlands, and agricultural produce, as well as fire related natural disasters that could result from harsh climatic conditions.
He also issued a warning about a poisonous food product allegedly being packaged by what he described as northern enemies. However, he assured believers that divine protection would prevail over such threats.
In the religious and entertainment spheres, Pastor Oladele predicted that the church would experience glory and purification, while churches operating in falsehood would be exposed. He warned that many young ministers are under spiritual attack and risk being replaced if they remain distracted from their calling.
He further called for prayers for a prominent gospel minister he claimed would be involved in an accident and warned of potential attacks against well known music ministers. According to him, the year would also witness the death of a former Nigerian head of state, the passing of a widely respected father of faith whose death would leave a vacuum in the Christian community, and the loss of a celebrated musical icon whose legacy would endure for generations.
On a more optimistic note, Pastor Oladele predicted increased global demand for Nigerians living abroad and said the Nigerian passport would gain greater international strength and recognition in 2026.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to remain prayerful, vigilant, and spiritually prepared, stressing that the prophecies are intended as warnings and calls to preparation rather than tools of fear or panic.
