The Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the development in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday afternoon. He disclosed that police operatives and other security agencies had been mobilised to the scene following the attack.
Ayanlade said the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Femi Haruna, alongside other security chiefs, was on the way to the affected area to assess the situation and coordinate response efforts.
“Yes, there was an attack by yet to be identified men against personnel of the national park,” Ayanlade said. He added that the Commissioner of Police had deployed tactical teams, officers of the Mobile Police Force, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit to the area to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
