Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred public attention after declaring that he has only one wife, Bewaji, while all other women who have children for him should be regarded strictly as baby mamas.
The declaration was made in a video shared by the singer shortly after the New Year, where he appeared to be involved in a heated confrontation with a woman whose identity has not been disclosed. The clip, which has since gone viral on social media, has triggered widespread reactions from fans and critics alike.
In the video, the unidentified woman was seen holding Portable firmly by his shirt and pulling at him angrily while exchanging words with him. Despite the tense situation, the singer maintained his stance and repeatedly insisted that only one woman holds the title of his wife.
According to Portable, the year 2026 represents a turning point in his personal life. He stated that he has chosen to draw clear boundaries regarding his relationships, stressing that Bewaji remains the only woman he recognises as his legitimate wife.
“2026, it is one wife, baby mamas. Bewaji is my only wife, the rest of you are baby mamas,” the singer said in the video.
Portable further emphasised that although he acknowledges having children with other women, he does not consider them his wives. He insisted that his marital commitment is solely to Bewaji, whom he described as his true partner.
The video quickly gained traction online, sparking a flood of reactions across various social media platforms. Many users expressed amusement at the singer’s blunt declaration, while others criticised him for what they described as a lack of sensitivity towards the mothers of his children.
