Uttar Pradesh Man Kills Wife and Two Daughters, Buries Them in Home Courtyard

A shocking and tragic incident has emerged from Garhi village in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, where a man allegedly killed his wife and two daughters before burying their bodies in a seven-foot-deep pit in his own home. The accused, identified as Farooq, is currently in police custody. The victims have been identified as 32-year-old Tahira, 14-year-old Afreen, and seven-year-old Sehreem. Farooq and Tahira also have three other children, who were unharmed during the incident.

According to police reports, the crime occurred following a domestic dispute. Farooq allegedly became enraged after his wife visited her parents’ home without wearing a burqa, which reportedly led to a confrontation. The couple had been experiencing marital difficulties for several months, frequently arguing over personal and financial matters. Farooq also reportedly had strained relations with his parents, Dawood and Asgari, with whom he had been living separately.

For several days, Tahira and her daughters were reported missing. When Dawood inquired about their whereabouts, Farooq allegedly claimed that the family was staying in a rented house in Shamli, raising further suspicion. Authorities were alerted after the family failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding their absence.

During police interrogation, Farooq reportedly confessed to the murders. He claimed that he killed his wife first, and when his daughters witnessed the act, he killed them as well. The bodies were buried in a pit in the courtyard of the family home, which Farooq said he had dug specifically for this purpose and concealed with bricks.

Superintendent of Police N.P. Singh stated, “Our team responded promptly after receiving the report about the missing woman and her daughters. During questioning, Farooq admitted to the crime, citing financial stress and disputes with his wife as contributing factors. He also stated that he felt his societal respect had been damaged due to his wife’s actions, which provoked his anger and led to this tragic outcome.”

Authorities have recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murders, including any potential warning signs that may have been overlooked by family members or the community.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and sparked discussions on domestic violence, mental health, and family disputes. Neighbors and villagers expressed horror and disbelief, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and intervention in cases of family tension and marital conflicts.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of unchecked anger, domestic disputes, and the importance of providing support and protection to vulnerable family members.
