Rescuers Save Kidnapped Boy Buried Alive in Turkey After Two-Day Ordeal

Authorities in Turkey have rescued a ten-year-old boy who was reportedly kidnapped, beaten, and buried alive under heavy rocks near Reyhanli Dam in Hatay province, following an intensive two-day search operation.

The boy, identified as Syrian national Amir Alcedduh, went missing on December 5 after leaving his primary school. When he failed to return home, his family immediately filed a missing person report, prompting police and local authorities to launch a large-scale search across Reyhanli and surrounding areas.

Investigators reportedly reviewed footage from more than 200 security cameras across the district in an effort to trace Amir’s movements. The surveillance revealed that he had been taken in a vehicle heading toward the Reyhanli Dam, a location surrounded by rough terrain and sparsely populated areas.

During the search, volunteer searcher Ramazan Albayrak heard unusual noises emanating from a rubbish-strewn area near the water’s edge. Initially mistaking the sounds for a bird, he soon realized it was a child’s voice coming from beneath a heap of heavy stones. Ramazan immediately began removing the rocks and uncovered Amir, who was barely conscious and trapped under the rubble. Video footage from the rescue shows responders shouting for an ambulance as the boy was freed and carefully carried away.

Amir was taken to a local hospital with a head injury and underwent emergency surgery. Medical personnel confirmed that he was now in stable condition, with no immediate risk to his life. Officials described the boy’s rescue as a remarkable act of perseverance and quick thinking by both police and volunteer rescuers.

Amir’s father, Muhammed El Cedduh, expressed relief that his son had survived but condemned the attack. “My son suffered under those stones for days. I want the cruel person who did this to my son to receive the harshest punishment possible. May God protect us all,” he told local media.

A man has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, though he has denied involvement and rejected the accusations made against him. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances behind Amir’s abduction and the motivations of those responsible.

The case has drawn widespread attention, highlighting ongoing concerns about child safety and security in the region. Officials and community leaders have called for stronger protective measures for children, particularly in areas near dams, rivers, and other isolated locations.

Local police and security agencies have urged parents and communities to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity to authorities immediately. The rescue of Amir has been hailed as a testament to the effectiveness of combined efforts between law enforcement and local volunteers, as well as the critical role of community awareness in preventing further tragedies.

As investigations continue, Amir remains under medical supervision, and authorities are working to ensure that justice is served while also providing support to the boy and his family as they recover from this traumatic experience.
