Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sounded the alarm over an alleged impending wave of terrorist attacks targeting multiple states across Nigeria. In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric urged the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to remain vigilant and act swiftly to avert what he described as a potentially devastating crisis.
According to Primate Ayodele, terrorists are planning coordinated attacks in Nasarawa, Abuja, Ondo, Kaduna, Sokoto, Benue, Katsina and Yobe. He warned that failure to respond promptly could allow insecurity to escalate, potentially affecting not only civilians but also the stability of the government.
He said, “These states should be closely monitored. Security agencies must deploy more personnel to these areas immediately.” He further explained that the attacks could be used to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration. “They will use insecurity to fight his government. He needs to take security very seriously. There will be more attacks against the Nigerian Army if nothing is done.”
The cleric also highlighted the possibility of foreign involvement should the Nigerian security system fail to take decisive action. He specifically mentioned the United States, claiming that foreign forces might intervene in what he described as a disgraceful operation. “America is ready to come to Nigeria’s aid, but it will be a disgraceful operation. I warned that they would start targeting generals. If the Nigerian Army cannot do the needful, America will strike, and this will affect everything about Tinubu. Their intervention could weaken the strength of our soldiers,” he cautioned.
Primate Ayodele’s warning has drawn attention to the broader security challenges facing Nigeria. Analysts say that heightened vigilance, intelligence gathering and timely intervention are critical in preventing potential attacks and safeguarding the country’s citizens. The cleric urged both the military and the government to act with urgency and sincerity to avert a full-scale crisis.
He concluded by appealing to security agencies to treat the situation with the utmost seriousness, stressing that failure to respond could have far-reaching consequences for national stability and the effectiveness of the Nigerian Army.
