The Plateau State Police Command has rescued the wife and one daughter of a pastor who were abducted from their residence in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, following a swift security operation.
The abduction reportedly took place at about 12.20 a.m. on December 22 at Makudang Mangor village. The incident was made public in a post shared on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, suspected kidnappers broke into the home of Pastor Gayus Tashvwam of the COCIN LCC Church and forcefully took him away along with his wife and two daughters, sparking fear and tension within the community.
Upon receiving the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer in Bokkos immediately mobilised a joint security team made up of police personnel and local hunters. The team launched a search operation, combing surrounding bushes and nearby routes believed to be used by the abductors.
During the operation, security operatives successfully rescued the pastor’s wife and one of his daughters without any injuries. The rescued victims were taken to safety and are currently receiving necessary support.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to rescue Pastor Tashvwam and his remaining daughter, who are still being held by the abductors. Security forces have intensified patrols in and around the affected communities to prevent further incidents and to track down the suspects.
The Plateau State Police Command has reassured residents of its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the area. Members of the public have been urged to remain calm, vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies as investigations continue.
