Pastor David Ogbueli, the Senior Pastor of Dominion City Churches Worldwide, has stirred conversations on social media after a video emerged showing him publicly admonishing his choristers and instrumentalists during a church service.
In the widely shared clip, Pastor Ogbueli is seen addressing the instrumentalists from the altar, where they were positioned in front of the congregation. He expressed strong displeasure over what he described as their inability to discern the appropriate moments to stop playing their instruments during worship.
While reprimanding them, the pastor drew comparisons to what he claimed is the order and conduct of worship in heaven. He emphasized absolute reverence in the presence of God and stated that worship in heaven does not allow for disorder or unnecessary interruptions.
“You need to see how heaven operates. I have been there three times. You do not see this nonsense,” he said.
“At that moment, everybody is on the floor, including the twenty four elders. What is shocking is that Jesus, who sits on the right hand of God, comes down and is prostrated.”
Pastor Ogbueli went on to warn the instrumentalists and choristers that a repeat of such actions would attract disciplinary measures. He specifically stated that they could be placed on a six month suspension from their roles if the issue occurred again.
Since the video surfaced online, it has generated mixed reactions from viewers. While some defended the pastor’s actions as a form of spiritual correction and leadership, others questioned the appropriateness of reprimanding church workers publicly and the claims made during the admonition.
The video continues to circulate across social media platforms, fueling ongoing debates about leadership style, worship conduct, and accountability within the church setting.
