Popular Nigerian cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, has made a startling revelation, claiming that he was once blindfolded and restrained for 58 days during a traumatic ordeal that, according to him, tested his faith and strengthened his trust in divine protection.
The clergyman disclosed this during a recent sermon while addressing why he remains calm and unshaken amid public controversies surrounding his name. He explained that during the period, he was blindfolded throughout, chained on both his hands and legs, and left with only a boxer as clothing.
According to Okafor, the experience reinforced his belief in the power of God to protect him from harm. He quoted scripture during the sermon, stating that God had promised to give His angels charge over him, a message he said continues to guide his life.
“If God can protect me, if He can kill me, poison cannot kill me. Do you think a human being can harm me?” the pastor told his congregation.
The revelation comes amid renewed public attention following the arrest of actress Doris Ogala, who recently made allegations against the pastor over marital betrayal. Her claims and subsequent arrest have sparked widespread debates across social media platforms and within the entertainment and religious communities.
Many online users have drawn connections between Okafor’s sermon and the ongoing controversy, with some interpreting his remarks as a response to the allegations currently being discussed in the public space.
Despite the controversy, several of the pastor’s supporters have taken to social media to praise his courage and resilience. They described his testimony as an example of unwavering faith and spiritual endurance in the face of adversity.
As investigations into Doris Ogala’s case continue, Pastor Chris Okafor’s sermon has added another layer to the unfolding public discourse, keeping public attention firmly fixed on the matter.
