Nigerian Lady Renovates Shop With Her Own Money, Landlady Rents It to Someone Else

A Nigerian woman has been left devastated after investing her own money to renovate an uncompleted shop, only to find out that the landlady rented it to another tenant once the renovation was complete.

According to a story shared by @bimsextension on TikTok, the lady discovered an uncompleted building in what she believed was a prime location for her business. Excited about the opportunity, she approached the landlady and requested permission to turn the space into a functional shop.

The landlady reportedly agreed. At the time, the structure had no roof and was far from usable. Undeterred, the woman took it upon herself to fund and oversee the entire renovation process. Over several weeks, she worked diligently on the property, spending a significant amount to transform it into a proper, market ready shop.

Her excitement turned to shock when, upon completing the renovation, she discovered that the landlady had already rented the shop to another tenant, reportedly for a higher amount. The woman’s investment, time, and effort ended up benefiting someone else entirely.

The TikTok video showing the completed shop and the woman’s disappointment quickly went viral. Users flooded the comments, many describing the landlady’s actions as unfair, exploitative, and morally questionable.
