Hollywood Director Rob Reiner and Wife Found Dead in Los Angeles Home, Police Investigating Homicide

Legendary Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in what authorities are investigating as an apparent homicide.

A family spokesperson confirmed the deaths, saying, “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss.” According to law enforcement sources, a family member discovered the couple’s bodies and immediately contacted authorities, prompting a rapid police response.

Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the scene and are leading the investigation. The LAPD Robbery Homicide Division is handling the case, but police have not yet released information regarding suspects, motives, or the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation as the investigation continues.

Rob Reiner, 78, was a prolific filmmaker, actor, and television personality whose career spanned decades. He directed numerous beloved films, including When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, Stand by Me, and This Is Spinal Tap. He first gained fame as an actor, playing Michael “Meathead” Stivic, the son-in-law of Archie Bunker, on the groundbreaking television series All in the Family. His work earned him multiple accolades and made him a respected figure in Hollywood.

Michele Singer Reiner, 68, was a casting director and producer who collaborated on several projects in the film industry. She was also known for her philanthropic work and community involvement, often supporting causes alongside her husband.

The Reiner family has asked for privacy during this difficult time and expressed their grief over the sudden and tragic loss. Authorities are continuing their investigation and have stated that additional details will be released as soon as they become available.
