Nollywood veteran Francis Duru has shared a deeply emotional tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, on what would have been his 17th birthday.

The actor lost his 15-year-old son in August 2024, a tragedy that left Duru and his family heartbroken. While he has not publicly revealed the cause of Ifeanyi’s death, he has described his son as a brave young boy who “fought like a lion.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Duru shared a photograph of Ifeanyi and wrote,

“Anyi, sweet soul, gentle spirit. It is your birthday, champ. Your memories live forever in our hearts and on our lips. I miss you loads. Happy posthumous birthday. Rest on son.”

Reflecting on the one-year anniversary of his son’s passing in August, the actor also expressed his enduring grief and love.

“Sweet soul Anyi, it is one year today you passed unto glory. One year you slipped out of our hands, son. It has been painful and still hurts. Son, no one can fill the void you have left in our lives and hearts, but in all, we give thanks. Rest on champ.”
