Drama as Woman Fakes Her Death to Avoid Paying Ajo Debt, But the Plan Backfires Spectacularly

=

Social media has gone into a frenzy after a shocking and hilarious story surfaced about a woman who allegedly faked her own death to escape paying her ajo, thrift contribution, debt.

The incident, shared by @babyblogger_new on Instagram, centers around a woman identified as Imisi, who had reportedly been avoiding her financial obligations for weeks. Members of the ajo group said she always had one excuse or another, and the pressure eventually increased.

At this point, Imisi and her sister allegedly created one of the most dramatic escape plans imaginable.

To convince the group that she had truly passed away, they recorded a video that has now gone viral. In the clip, Imisi is seen lying completely still, wrapped in white cloth with cotton in her nostrils. This is a typical representation of a corpse in some local settings. Her sister acted as the spokesperson and shared the heartbreaking news in the group chat. She claimed that Imisi died after being heavily threatened over the debt.

Instead of sympathy, the stunt triggered an outpouring of disbelief, amusement, and mockery across the internet. Many Nigerians quickly labeled it one of the craziest debt excuses in history. Some joked that Nollywood should recruit her immediately, while others crowned her the Best Actress in a Financial Crisis.

The situation has now become a full online spectacle. Comments range from laughter about the creativity behind the stunt to criticism about how far some individuals will go to avoid financial responsibility.

There is still no confirmation on whether she eventually refunded the money or whether the ajo group plans to take further action. However, one thing is clear. Imisi’s attempt to pretend to be dead has turned her into the unexpected star of one of the wildest financial dramas the internet has seen in a long time.
