Corper Cries Out as Bandits Kidnap His Mother in Kogi While Travelling to Abuja

A corps member has raised the alarm on social media after his mother was reportedly kidnapped while travelling by road from Kogi State to Abuja. The shocking incident has reignited concerns over rising insecurity in the region.

The heartbroken son, identified on X as @dope_demonxx, explained that his mother was travelling on a commercial bus when armed kidnappers struck in Kabba. According to him, the last time they communicated, she had informed him that she had reached the Kabba area. Shortly afterward, all communication went silent, leaving him and the family in a state of panic.

Disturbing videos shared by @abujastreets have circulated online, showing passengers being abducted from a bus in broad daylight on November 27, 2025. The post expressed frustration over the growing insecurity in Kogi State and neighbouring areas, saying, “Apparently everyone on this bus was kidnapped earlier today in Kabba, Kogi state. Broad daylight bro, we are tired.”

As the situation unfolded, relatives of the victims reportedly began receiving ransom calls from the kidnappers. According to @dope_demonxx, negotiations have started, but the process has been complicated and emotionally draining. He revealed, “Nigeria don finally happen to me. Bandits don kidnap my mom. Haaa where do I start from? The issue still stands on 60 million. We are trying to negotiate with them, but the number they provided is off for now until evening before we try it again. They call each family that was kidnapped randomly with different amounts. We are in so much pain. Many children are with them.”

In a follow-up comment, he provided more insight into the ordeal, saying, “She was going to Abuja today. The last we heard from her, she said she was in Kabba.”

The posts have drawn widespread attention online, with many users expressing sympathy and sending prayers for the safe return of his mother and other passengers. Others have called for urgent government intervention, emphasizing that kidnappings in Kogi and neighbouring states have become increasingly frequent, often targeting travellers on major roads.

The incident highlights the ongoing insecurity along key highways and the vulnerability of commuters, sparking renewed discussions about the need for stronger security measures, vigilant policing, and community awareness to prevent such attacks in the future.
