Brazilian Influencer Dies After Allegedly Thrown From 10th-Floor Balcony by Husband

Tragedy struck in São Paulo after 25 year old lifestyle blogger Maria Katiane Gomes da Silva died following a fall from the 10th floor balcony of her apartment. Authorities have reported that her husband, 40 year old Alex Leandro Bispo dos Santos, is the prime suspect in the incident.

The couple reportedly had a heated argument shortly before the incident occurred. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Gomes da Silva’s body on the ground floor, while her husband claimed she had taken her own life. However, police investigations, supported by CCTV footage from the apartment complex, have contradicted his account.

According to authorities, the video shows the suspect physically assaulting Gomes da Silva moments before her death. He was reportedly seen striking her in the car park, continuing the attack inside the lift, gripping her by the neck, and dragging her from the lift while she struggled to resist. Shortly afterward, Gomes da Silva fell from the balcony. The suspect was later seen returning to the lift alone and collapsing in distress.

Nine days after the incident, Alex Leandro Bispo dos Santos was arrested on suspicion of femicide. Police stated that the evidence collected so far does not support claims of suicide and that a full investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing.

Gomes da Silva, originally from Ceará State, had moved to São Paulo to pursue better career opportunities. She became a well known lifestyle influencer, sharing content on makeup, travel, and wellness, and had amassed a significant following online. Friends and fans have expressed shock and grief over her death, praising her positivity and passion for inspiring others.

The influencer is survived by a young daughter from a previous relationship. Police are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
