Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has broken his silence following a petition submitted by his own family to the Inspector General of Police, which accused his wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, of offenses including bigamy, financial misconduct, and assault. The petition, first reported by Premium Times on 5 December 2025, claimed that Natasha’s actions caused emotional distress, financial loss, and reputational damage to the singer.
In a heartfelt video shared on the 2Baba House Instagram page, the 50-year-old musician rejected the allegations, describing them as distorted and far removed from reality. He revealed that the situation had caused him more pain than the public could imagine.
“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand. I am not just going to be quiet anymore,” 2Baba said.
The veteran artist stressed that he is an adult fully capable of making his own choices about his relationships. He accused some relatives of claiming to “protect” him while, in truth, they were undermining his life and damaging Natasha’s reputation. The singer noted that his wife has been subjected to daily death threats, leaving both of them shaken.
Acknowledging that all couples face disagreements, 2Baba insisted that his wellbeing is intact. He pointed to recent public appearances, including a high-profile performance in Abuja, as evidence of his continued strength and activity. He questioned how anyone could claim to be protecting him while simultaneously creating chaos in his private life.
2Baba also drew parallels to challenges he experienced in his previous marriage to Annie Idibia, suggesting a recurring pattern of family interference disrupting his personal relationships and fueling unnecessary turmoil.
Visibly emotional at points in the video, the singer described the situation as deeply unfair and damaging. He said Natasha’s life had been thrown into turmoil by fabricated claims, and witnessing the impact on her had been “heartbreaking.”
He emphasized that he does not interfere in others’ marriages or personal lives and sees no reason why his own choices should invite constant meddling. The repeated interference, he said, had become a habit within his family, one he could no longer tolerate.
By the end of the video, 2Baba appeared exhausted but resolute. He made it clear that the situation had reached a breaking point, and he would no longer remain silent while relatives contributed to what he described as a dangerous and damaging smear campaign against both him and his wife.
