Veteran Nollywood actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, has reportedly passed away.
According to reports by eelive.ng, the sad news was announced by renowned actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod on his verified Instagram page on Tuesday, November 12.
Afod, 54, revealed that Baba Gebu died after a brief illness.
“It saddens my heart as I announce the passing away of our great legend, a great actor who passed away this evening after a brief illness. Baba Gebu, may your soul rest in peace,” Afod wrote.
Baba Gebu had a long and successful career in the Nigerian film industry, especially in Yoruba-language cinema, where he contributed to numerous productions that shaped the industry’s growth.
In 2024, the late actor opened up about the loss of his wife and his decision to return to active acting as a way to cope with depression. His colleagues and friends, including Afod, rallied around him to support his comeback.
