Nigerian musician and internet personality Speed Darlington has shared how he took on a home improvement task after a handyman allegedly billed him N100,000 for installing barbwire on his fence.
He recounted the incident in a video posted on his social media page. According to him, he invited a local worker to assess the job, but the quoted price prompted him to dismiss the handyman and complete the installation on his own.
Speed Darlington explained that if a man with three wives and several children could handle the task, then he also had the capability to do it. He stated that he had dismantled and reassembled many car engines, changed their oil, and restored the vehicles successfully.
The musician, who is currently building a house in his home village in eastern Nigeria, said he prefers to handle certain tasks himself rather than pay high fees.
The video sparked mixed reactions online.
Realestadewale commented that anyone more frugal than Speed Darlington would be impossible to deal with.
