Police Arrest 20-Year-Old for Allegedly Defiling 10-Year-Old Boy in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, identified as Nura Auwal, for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old boy in Lugbe, Abuja.

This was made known in a statement issued on Saturday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who revealed that the case was reported at the Trademore Police Division on October 24, 2025.

Adeh explained that the father of the victim, Mr. Sani Yakubu, reported that his son returned home crying on October 23, after being sexually assaulted by the suspect in a nearby bush where he had gone to ease himself.

“The boy alleged that the suspect, Nura Auwal, accosted and sexually assaulted him, gave him ₦200, and threatened to kill him if he told anyone,” the statement read in part.

According to the police, the victim was immediately taken to the Police Hospital in Garki for medical attention, while operatives from the Trademore Division swung into action and arrested the suspect within the Lugbe area.

Preliminary investigations, Adeh stated, revealed that the suspect has a history of engaging in similar acts and was introduced to the practice by an acquaintance in Katsina State.

She added that the investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion.

“The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, strongly condemns the incident and reaffirms the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on all forms of sexual and gender-based violence. He further assures that the victim is receiving the necessary medical assistance,” Adeh added.
