American rapper Nicki Minaj has commended U.S. President Donald Trump for designating Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) over reports of religious persecution.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the rapper expressed gratitude for living in a country where people are free to worship without fear of discrimination.
Minaj emphasised that no one should ever be targeted for their faith, urging global awareness about growing religious intolerance across the world.
“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” Minaj wrote.
“No group should ever be persecuted for practising their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs to respect one another. Numerous countries around the world are being affected by this horror, and it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.
“Thank you to the President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let us remember to lift them in prayer.”
The U.S. government’s designation places Nigeria among countries accused of severe violations of religious freedom, a move that has drawn both domestic and international attention.
