Ned Nwoko’s 5th Wife, Laila Charani, Accuses Regina Daniels of Introducing Her to Drugs

The fifth wife of Nigerian senator and businessman, Ned Nwoko, Laila Charani, has made shocking allegations against her estranged co-wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, accusing her of introducing her to drugs six years ago, a situation she claims almost destroyed her marriage.

The Moroccan-born wife made the revelation in a series of posts shared on her Instagram page while reacting to a claim by Regina that she had supported her financially in the past. Laila denied the claim outright, challenging the actress to make their financial records public so Nigerians could see who truly sent money to whom.

“How dare you say that you ever gave me money, for what exactly?” she wrote. “I am very contented with the provisions my husband makes for our family. We should show Nigerians our bank accounts to see who is paying money to whose accounts.”

Laila went on to accuse Regina of being the cause of the tension between her and Ned Nwoko, claiming the actress has been at odds with their husband because he wants her to quit her alleged drug and alcohol habits. According to Laila, the politician has always been firm in his belief that no wife of his should indulge in such activities, as he himself neither drinks nor smokes.

“You also know that my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking,” she added. “He has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction. It has always been a serious matter for him, as he neither smokes nor drinks himself.”

Laila claimed that her own experience with drugs began after Regina’s alleged influence, saying that she nearly lost her home and family until her husband intervened. “You know too well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs six years ago, and it was my husband’s quick insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path,” she said.

The mother of three also accused Regina of being a bad influence within their household, alleging that she had introduced drugs to domestic staff and even her younger sister, Destiny. Laila said this behaviour was one of the main reasons she no longer allows her daughters to be around the actress unsupervised.

“You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family, giving drugs to nannies and our workers, including your younger sister Destiny,” she wrote. “You infected everyone with your habits, and this is why I will not trust my daughters around you unsupervised, especially after discovering that you were sleeping with every single girl around you. Please go and sort yourself out. Seek help.”

Laila’s explosive statements have since gone viral on social media, sparking intense debates among fans of both women. While some users have called for restraint and privacy in handling family matters, others have demanded that Regina Daniels respond to the allegations publicly.

As of press time, Regina Daniels has not issued an official response to the accusations. However, the controversy has once again thrown the Nwoko household into the public spotlight, reigniting conversations about the complexities of polygamous marriages and celebrity relationships in Nigeria.
