Nigerian comedian, singer, and actor Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as Nasboi, has condemned the wave of mockery and insensitive comments directed at actress Regina Daniels following her recent emotional statements about her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, November 7, 2025, Nasboi expressed disappointment over how many Nigerians reacted to Daniels’ heartfelt revelations. He lamented that instead of showing sympathy, people resorted to laughter, insults, and baseless criticism.
“Regina Daniels has said many things, but people are laughing and abusing her. No one cares if the lady is depressed. God forbid anything happens to her, the same people will be the first to comment ‘RIP.’ Very toxic country,” Nasboi wrote.
His statement came amid growing online discussions about Regina Daniels’ alleged experiences of emotional abuse and trauma. The actress reportedly opened up about her struggles and the ongoing detention of her brother, Sammy West, who remains in custody. However, her emotional confessions have been met largely with ridicule rather than compassion.
Many Nigerians have either doubted her sincerity or accused her of seeking attention — a reaction Nasboi described as deeply troubling. He emphasized that such behavior reflects the country’s worsening lack of empathy and compassion for individuals experiencing mental or emotional distress.
Nasboi’s remarks have since resonated with several fans and celebrities who share his concern about the growing insensitivity on social media. His message serves as a reminder that behind every public figure is a real person who faces pain, pressure, and struggles like everyone else.
He urged Nigerians to replace mockery with kindness and show more support to those brave enough to share their personal battles publicly.
