Nigerian singer Okafor Uchenna Victor, widely known as Mr Real, has sparked widespread discussion after revealing a disturbing dream in which armed bandits allegedly infiltrated Lagos State. The artiste, celebrated for his hit track Legbegbe, shared the account via social media, describing the vision as unusually intense and prompting renewed conversations about insecurity in the country.
According to Mr Real, the dream portrayed a scenario where bandits had shifted from their known patterns of targeting schools, rural communities, and highways to launching bold attacks in major urban centres. He claimed the attackers were invading clubs, offices, and other public spaces in Lagos, abducting people in broad daylight and even televising their activities.
In his words, “I dreamt that these bandits entered Lagos,” stressing that the attackers were no longer focusing only on churches or remote locations but had started “attacking Nigerians in clubs.” The singer said the dream left him unsettled because of his belief that many of his past dreams have come true. “Since I started dreaming, 70 percent of my dreams always come to pass,” he said.
His revelation immediately sparked mixed reactions across social media. Some users urged security agencies to take the warning seriously, arguing that dreams and intuitions should not be dismissed in a country already dealing with unpredictable security threats. Others suggested the post reflected Mr Real’s anxiety about rising national insecurity rather than an actual premonition.
Security analysts also weighed in, noting that although Lagos has remained relatively safer compared to other states, the city is not immune to criminal activities. They stressed the need for continued vigilance, intelligence gathering, and collaboration between security forces and local communities to prevent potential threats.
The singer’s comments come amid Nigeria’s ongoing struggle with banditry, which has plagued several regions, leading to repeated kidnappings, displacement of communities, and loss of lives. While there is currently no official intelligence report indicating any imminent bandit attack on Lagos, the public continues to express concern and call for proactive measures.
As of the time of reporting, security agencies have not issued any formal statement responding to Mr Real’s claims. However, the conversation has further highlighted growing public anxiety about the nation’s security situation and the importance of staying alert.
